Octoplus Box JTAG PRO Software v.1.1.7 Release Notes: Released Resize/Repartition feature - possibility to resize/repartition eMMC flash with EFI partition table! One button click only! This new feature is important and should be used when you decide to replace your flash memory, use another chip with bigger or less flash memory size. Also, Resize/Repartition feature will come handy when you performed recovery operation and want the device to recognize the amount of available memory correctly. For example, you have a device with 16GB flash chip and corresponding restore file, created with the same device, with the same amount of memory – also 16GB. You changed the original flash chip on another flash chip with bigger capacity – 32GB and performed the restore operation, using recovery file (Repair File), which has been created on a similar device with 16GB flash memory size. As a result, after recovery operation, device will recognize 16GB only of new flash memory chip. To be able to access all 32GB on your new chip you have to perform Resize/Repartition operation! Note:Not all versions of firmware support repartition/resize operation. Firmware of Medusa Pro Box has been updated! To update the firmware, please connect the box and only then run the Software. How to Repair box firmware, if box not detected by PC and Box status in Octoplus Pro JTAG Software is “Not connected” after firmware updating. To repair box firmware, do the next: Disconnect all Boxes and other devices from PC. Run the Octoplus Pro JTAG Software. Open Control Panel -> Device Manager. Open (disassemble) Medusa Pro box. Connect the box to PC via USB cable. Heat up IC U6 (smaller square MCU) on PCB using hot air gun or soldering iron at 150 °C (300 °F) for a few seconds till “libusb-win32 devices / HSJTAG V0x100” device appears in PC Device Manager and Box status in Octoplus Pro JTAG Software becomes “Connected”. Also LED’s will start blinking at that moment. Go to “Welcome” tab in Octoplus Pro JTAG Software and press “Update Box Firmware” button. Box firmware should be updated to version 1.13. Note! After repairing box firmware you shouldn’t use previous versions of Octoplus Pro JTAG Software, please always use the latest actual software version. Note!
